Biography
Dr. Erenalp Rençber graduated from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2006 and completed his LL.M. in Private Law at the same university in 2010. He received his Ph.D. in Private Law from Istanbul University in 2025 with a dissertation entitled “Protection and Processing of Employees’ Personal Data.”
A member of the Istanbul Bar Association since 2007, Av. Dr. Erenalp Rençber has more than twenty years of legal practice. He advises domestic and international companies on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, data protection and compliance. Throughout his professional career, he has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions and investors in cross-border transactions and a wide range of legal matters. In 2013–2014, he worked at the London office of Linklaters LLP on secondment. He has successfully completed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) assessments and is currently completing the admission process to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.
His academic interests primarily focus on private law, employment law, data protection, comparative law and the impact of emerging technologies on private law. His research particularly addresses the protection and processing of employee data and the legal implications of AI-assisted decision-making systems from data protection and employment law perspectives. English law and comparative private law issues involving English and Turkish law also form part of his academic interests.
Dr. Erenalp Rençber teaches “Introduction to English Law” at MEF University Faculty of Law and also teaches “Business Law” in English at another university. He speaks English, French and Spanish.
