AYFER UYANIK

Prof. Dr. Ayfer Uyanık completed her primary and secondary education in Germany and began her higher education at the Faculty of Law at the University of Cologne. She completed her undergraduate education at the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University. She completed her master's degree with the thesis titled “Jurisdiction Agreements under International Procedural Law” and conducted her doctoral studies with a thesis on “Factoring and International Factoring Contracts” at the Institute of International Private Law and Foreign Nationals' Law at the University of Cologne. In 1994, she obtained her master's degree from the Institute of Social Sciences at Istanbul University, and in 2000, she earned his doctorate, becoming a “Doctor of Law.” Prof. Dr. Ayfer Uyanık, who was promoted to associate professor in 2007 and professor in 2016, began her academic career in 1992 as a research assistant at the Department of International Private Law at Istanbul University Faculty of Law. Before joining the academic staff of MEF University, she served as a faculty member at Koç University Faculty of Law, Department of International Private Law, between 2006 and 2010. She has taught courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels in the following areas: International Private Law, Family Law, Child Law, Refugee Law, Foreign Investment Law, Preparation of Foreign Commercial Contracts and Resolution of Disputes, International Trade Law, International Contract Law, Health Tourism Law, and International Medical Law. Prof. Dr. Uyanık has presented papers at various national and international conferences and authored books and articles. In recent years, she has focused her work on “International Medical Law” (particularly legal issues encountered in health tourism); she has served as a member of the Legislation and Accreditation Commission of the Health Tourism Coordination Board of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and as a member of the TÜSKA Health Tourism Accreditation Standards Working Group under the Turkish Health Institutes (TÜSEB).
