MEF University Faculty of Law will participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition, currently in its thirty-fourth year. Our Faculty will be represented in the competition by a team composed of Ece Altundağ, Aişe Zülal Can, Elif Dinç, Alya Nazlı Katırcıoğlu, Busenaz Kaya, Gözde Koca and Hatice Ada Özdemir.

Ece Altundağ
Ece Altundağ graduated from Doğa College in 2023 and began her legal education at MEF University Faculty of Law in the same year. As a third-year law student, she is pursuing an academic minor in Leadership in addition to her law studies. Her academic and professional interests primarily include administrative law, obligations law, human rights law, and commercial law. Throughout her legal education, she has gained practical experience by completing internships in administrative law, human rights law, and commercial law firms. She has also been actively involved in the MEF Law Club, serving as a committee leader. She has advanced proficiency in English, good proficiency in German, and basic knowledge of French.
Aişe Zülal Can
Aişe Zülal Can completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in 2023 and graduated from Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in 2024, subsequently beginning her legal education at MEF University Faculty of Law in the same year. As a third-year law student, she is pursuing a double major in Psychology to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between law and human behavior and to examine the assumptions about human behavior underlying legal norms through the empirical findings of psychology. Her academic interests include criminal law, commercial law, human rights law, and AI law. She has advanced proficiency in English and basic knowledge of German.
Elif Dinç
Elif Dinç is a second-year law student at MEF University, where she continues her studies as a high-honor student. She is particularly interested in international commercial law, the law of obligations and arbitration. With a focus on both academic and personal development, she has participated in various educational and development programs, including YetGen, Turkishe Teknoloji ile Geleceğini Kodla, Turkishe An’da Liderlik, SOCAR Next Gen Academy, and Nestlé Youth Academy. She is also a member of the Organization Team of MEF Toplum Gönüllüleri Kulübü (MEF TOG), where she contributes to the planning, organization, and coordination of social responsibility and volunteering-focused events. Fluent in English, Elif is also learning Spanish and continues to develop her language skills.
Alya Nazlı Katırcıoğlu
Alya Nazlı Katırcıoğlu graduated from Göztepe İhsan Kurşunoğlu Anatolian High School in 2024 and began her undergraduate studies at MEF University Faculty of Law in the same year. She is a second-year honor student at MEF University Faculty of Law. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she has developed a keen interest in moot court competitions, international law, corporate law, and artificial intelligence law. In line with her academic interests, she has completed foundational coursework in European Union law and actively participates in moot court team activities. As part of her practical experience, she interned at LegitLawco, where she gained hands-on experience in legal consultancy, corporate law, and foreign investments. Alongside her academic pursuits, she actively engages in social responsibility projects and student organizations. Serving as the Social Media Lead at the MEF Women’s Human Rights Club, she manages digital communications and focuses on awareness campaigns concerning women’s human rights, gender equality, combating violence against women, and fundamental rights and freedoms. She previously contributed to the initiatives of the Imdat Violence Prevention and Rehabilitation Association. In addition, as a member of the Events Team at IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience)—a global organization facilitating international student internships—she actively takes part in organizational processes and represented her university at the 51st Central European Convention (CEC) held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has an advanced proficiency in English.
Busenaz Kaya
Busenaz Kaya graduated from Eyüpsultan Anatolian High School in 2023 and is currently a third-year high honor student at MEF University Faculty of Law. Her academic interests primarily focus on private law—specifically civil law, the law of obligations, commercial law, and intellectual property law—as well as human rights law. Aiming to reinforce legal theory with practical experience, Busenaz completed summer internships at GPK Law & Consulting and Çakıroğlu Legal. During these internships, she observed corporate operations and litigation preparation, gaining practical experience in trademark, consumer, and contract law. In addition, she actively follows developments in arbitration and is part of the Turkish Arbitration Blog community. Active in student clubs since her first year of university, Busenaz has taken on various leadership and vice-presidency roles. She subsequently served as the Co-President of the MEF Law Club, leading her team in organizing legal summits, panel discussions, and events. She currently continues her involvement as an Advisor to the Board. Dedicated to civil society initiatives focusing on gender equality and sustainability, Busenaz delivered an oral presentation at the VII International Congress on Understanding Violence and spoke on a panel addressing violence against women. She is an active member of Genç Yanındayız and serves on the Law and Compliance Team at Green for Youth. Reinforcing her work ethic and teamwork through sports and the arts, Busenaz has a background in volleyball, basketball, and violin. She has advanced proficiency in English.
Gözde Koca
Gözde Koca completed her high school education at Tarhan College and is currently a third-year law student at MEF University Faculty of Law. To explore how human psychology and decision-making processes interact with legal frameworks, she complements her legal education with a minor in Psychology. Her primary academic interests focus on public law, law of obligations, and commercial law. In addition to her coursework, Gözde contributed to academic research by co-presenting a poster at the International Congress on Understanding Violence. Active in sports and community leadership from a young age, Gözde played on volleyball teams throughout middle and high school and is a former licensed rower. She combines this discipline with a strong dedication to social responsibility: as the President of the Bir Adım Bin Umut club, she leads initiatives to build libraries in village schools, and having completed training at SosyalBen Academy, she educates primary school children on children's rights. Demonstrating environmental awareness, she also volunteered in Fethiye to plant olive trees following local forest fires. Furthermore, Gözde works as an Institutional Relations Assistant at MEF University and possesses advanced proficiency in English, seamlessly combining discipline, social leadership, and strong communication skills.
Hatice Ada Özdemir
Hatice Ada Özdemir, a graduate of Beşiktaş Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School, is a senior law student at MEF University Faculty of Law. Her academic interests focus on areas of private law, particularly commercial law, dispute resolution, and international arbitration. Throughout her legal education, she has gained experience in various areas of law through internships at law firms, companies, and public institutions. She was actively involved in the MEF Law Club for two years, serving as secretary general on its board and participating in various academic and professional events. She has advanced proficiency in English and basic knowledge of German.
