CELT Contribution to Society

Extending Learning Beyond the Boundaries of the University

As the MEF University Center for Research and Best Practice in Learning and Teaching (CELT), we believe that knowledge and experience should not remain limited to the institution. Sharing good practices, research-based insights, and teaching experiences with wider communities is an important part of universities’ mission to contribute to society.

In line with this understanding, we aim to make the teaching resources and educational content we develop as open, accessible, and shareable as possible.

Our Open Educational Resources Policy

CELT supports the Open Educational Resources (OER) approach.

Many educational materials, guides, webinar recordings, examples of practice, and digital resources produced by CELT are shared not only for internal use, but also for anyone who may benefit from them in the field of education.

Within this scope, we publicly share:

  • Teaching and learning guides,

  • Resources on educational technologies and artificial intelligence applications,

  • Webinar and workshop recordings,

  • Digital learning and teaching materials,

  • Good practice examples and experience-sharing resources.

How Do We Contribute to Society?

As CELT, we contribute to society by:

  • Making current developments in education more visible,

  • Creating opportunities for instructors to share their teaching experiences,

  • Raising awareness about educational technologies and artificial intelligence,

  • Disseminating research- and practice-based knowledge,

  • Reaching wider educational communities through open-access content.

Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to one of the core functions of universities: sharing knowledge with society and supporting continuous improvement in education.

Through our contribution to society initiatives, we bring our experience in learning and teaching to participants beyond the university. In our workshop titled Interactive Material Design with AI: NotebookLM and Claude, we carried out hands-on activities with participants.

A comprehensive three-day AI workshop was held at Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School with the participation of teachers working at high schools affiliated with the Beşiktaş Provincial Directorate of National Education.

Through the bulletins we prepare, we share current knowledge and good practice examples in learning and teaching with wider audiences.
