Dear Faculty Members,
Welcome to MEF University!
The details and main resources of the orientation program, which will help you start teaching at MEF University and support you in integrating the Flipped Learning approach into your courses, are provided below.
An orientation program is organized for our new academics before each semester. This program is designed to help you adopt our university’s innovative educational approach. You can access the details of the program here. Below, you will find information about the key steps of the orientation program.
Welcome Meeting: Organized by CELT (Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching), this meeting introduces new faculty members to MEF University’s educational philosophy, teaching processes, and available resources.
Flipped Learning (FL) Workshops: Two alternative FL workshop options will be available:
Essentials Track (1 hour): Covers the fundamentals of Flipped Learning.
Mastery Track (3 hours): Explores FL in depth and introduces FL standards through a sample course.
(The Mastery Track is especially recommended for newly hired full-time faculty members.)
Blackboard Fundamentals Workshop (1 hour): A CELT Instructional Design Specialist will demonstrate the most essential features and functions of Blackboard.
MEF University AI Policy Workshop (1 hour): This workshop reviews MEF University’s AI policy and focuses on integrating generative AI into teaching and learning.
One-to-One Meetings (1 hour): Throughout the semester, one-to-one meetings are available for faculty members. Before the semester begins, you will be invited to a one-to-one Instructional Design Meeting to discuss and develop your courses with an instructional designer. In addition, approximately one week after classes begin, a Blackboard Design Meeting will be held, during which the instructional designer and the faculty member will work together to review and organize the Blackboard course page(s).
