Upon graduation, students

  1. Relates economic knowledge with other social sciences and mathematics, and utilizes it in interdisciplinary analyses.

  2. Differentiates between the interactions of various fields of economics and synthesizes these distinctions.

  3. Analyzes economic phenomena by modeling microeconomic and macroeconomic theories using mathematical and statistical tools. 

  4. Evaluates alternative theoretical approaches to solving complex economic problems and applies the findings rationally within decision-making processes.

  5. Analyzes and compares diverse economic systems using quantitative techniques.

  6. Applies economic theoretical knowledge and models to issues concerning Turkish and global economies, and designs evidence-based policy recommendations.

  7. Analyzes economic data through econometric and statistical methods and presents the results using appropriate software applications.

  8. Conducts and reports all stages of economic analysis in accordance with scientific and ethical principles.

  9. Uses written and oral English (at least at CEFR B2 level) effectively in the sharing of scientific information.

  10. Integrates social responsibility into economic decision-making processes.

  11. Develops the learning competencies necessary for further studies with a high degree of autonomy.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students should be able to conduct interdisciplinary analyses by integrating economic knowledge with other social sciences and mathematical tools; they should be able to identify and synthesize the interactions between economic processes at the micro and macro levels.

Students should be able to analyze economic data using appropriate econometric and statistical methods; they should be able to evaluate different economic systems in a comparative manner by testing theoretical models with quantitative techniques.

Students should be able to apply economic theories to problems encountered in the Turkish and global contexts; evaluate alternative theoretical approaches to develop evidence-based policy recommendations and integrate these recommendations into rational decision-making processes.

 Students should be able to conduct economic analysis processes in accordance with scientific and ethical principles; present their findings effectively in both written and spoken English; and develop the learning competencies necessary for advanced studies.
