🏛️ MEF CELT Trainings

The MEF University Center for Research and Best Practice in Learning and Teaching (CELT) organizes trainings and workshops each semester to support the pedagogical development of academic staff. On this page, you can access the trainings previously offered by CELT as well as those currently being delivered.

CELT also offers customized versions of its trainings to external partners, tailored to institutional needs. In addition, some training materials are available in asynchronous digital formats, which can be accessed on our “Digital Learning Materials” page.

🎓 Flipped Learning Workshop

This workshop is designed to introduce the Flipped Learning model adopted by MEF University and provide academics with a practical framework for implementation. Participants learn how to design pre-class learning materials, structure active learning activities in class, and plan the overall course flow according to the Flipped Learning approach.

The workshop explains the pedagogical foundations of the model while also helping academics develop practical strategies that can be adapted to their own courses.

🖥️ Instructional Design and Technology Workshops

Using Technology in the Classroom

This workshop explores practical ways to use technology in the classroom more effectively, efficiently, and engagingly for students. Participants examine how educational technology tools support content delivery, interaction, and feedback, while also discussing the principle that technology is not a solution to every problem and should be used purposefully. The workshop also introduces the PICRAT model to evaluate technology integration.

Active Learning Design

This workshop focuses on the core principles of active learning to help participants design more effective learning activities for their courses. The session begins with examining types and levels of interaction in active learning, clarifying what active learning is and what it is not.

Key instructional design concepts such as desirable difficulty, scaffolding, and cognitive load are explored along with related design principles.

🤖 Artificial Intelligence Workshops and Development Activities

These workshops are designed to support academics in effectively and responsibly integrating artificial intelligence into their teaching, learning, and research practices. Participants gain hands-on experience with current tools and develop practical applications tailored to their own courses and academic needs.

🌐 Training Programs for External Institutions

The MEF University Center for Research and Best Practice in Learning and Teaching (CELT) collaborates with a wide range of institutions to deliver professional development workshops in areas such as Flipped Learning, educational technologies, and the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning. CELT has previously conducted training programs in partnership with organizations including the YÖRET Foundation, Bilkent Schools, and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

Institutions interested in organizing a customized CELT workshop are welcome to contact us through the MEF University Lifelong Learning Center (YABEM) or reach out to CELT directly for further information.
