MEF Faculty of Education IB PYP Certificate Program
The International Teaching Certificate Program aims to provide prospective teachers, new and experienced educators with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to teach in International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP (Primary Years Program) World schools around the world. The International Teaching Certificate Program is approved by MEF University Faculty of Education. Also recognized by the IB Organization, our program aims to offer participants a rich, in-depth learning experience and the flexibility to follow the learning model that best suits their career plans.
This program focuses on the theory, pedagogy, practice, and research that underpin IB programs focusing on the PYP. Participants will receive a certificate of completion from MEF University Faculty of Education when they successfully complete all courses in this program. This certificate will include the program completion date and brief information about the program. Since this certificate program is recognized by the IB, those who successfully complete the program will be able to apply for the IB Educator Certificate from the IB. Graduates of this certificate program may use this qualification to obtain exemption from the PYP (Category 1) workshop requirement for school credentialing/evaluation purposes, but under certain conditions:
The certificate shows that the educator studied in the program in which they teach.
A certificate can only remove the Category 1 requirement for one subject; A certificate cannot cover more than one subject area.
Certificates will be considered valid until the program is revised and a new guide is published.
Certificates will indicate the program completion date.
The subject specification will be subject to verification from the issuing body if an employer organization requires this level of verification.
