What are the Double Major (ÇAP) and Minor (YAP) Programs?
A Double Major Program (ÇAP) allows a student enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the university to pursue a second bachelor's degree from another program within the same university. The student’s current program at the time of application is referred to as the "primary major," while the program they apply to and are accepted into is referred to as the "second major."
A Minor Program (YAP) allows a student enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the university to take courses from a second program in order to broaden their knowledge. The student’s current program is referred to as the "major," while the program they apply to and are accepted into is referred to as the "minor."
What are the application requirements for the Minor and Double Major Programs?
For the Double Major Program, the student must:
a) Have successfully completed all courses taken in their major up to the semester of application,
b) Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.72/4.00 at the time of application,
c) Be ranked in the top 20% of their class in their primary major program.
Students who have a GPA of at least 2.72/4.00 but are not in the top 20% may still apply if their university entrance exam score is equal to or above the base score required for admission to the second major program in the relevant year.
Admission to the Double Major Program is finalized upon the recommendation of the relevant departments and the decision of the faculty administrative boards.
For the Minor Program, the student must:
a) Have successfully completed all courses taken in their major up to the semester of application,
b) Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50/4.00 at the time of application.
If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, students with higher GPAs are given priority.
Admission to the Minor Program is finalized upon the recommendation of the relevant departments and the decision of the faculty administrative boards.

What is the required number of credits and courses for each program?
The Double Major Program consists of up to 160 ECTS credits, excluding common courses. Courses that are considered equivalent in the major and double major programs are determined by the respective academic units and, if previously taken, are finalized upon the student's acceptance into the program; others are finalized during the relevant semester with the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board. Courses deemed equivalent in both the major and double major programs are included in the student’s semester enrollment and appear on both transcripts.
The Minor Program consists of up to 40 ECTS credits, excluding common courses. These credits are completed with courses listed in the curriculum of the minor department. Common and equivalent courses for each minor program are determined by the respective departments and announced by the faculties.
How long does it take to complete the program?
Students who qualify for graduation from their major program but have not yet completed their second major have a maximum period defined in Article 44(c) of Law No. 2547, starting from the academic year in which they enrolled in the second major. Students who have completed their major requirements but have not yet finished the minor program may be granted an additional semester to meet graduation requirements upon the decision of the University Executive Board. Whether scholarship students in this situation retain their scholarships depends on the approval of the Executive Board.
